What is Black Friday?
Originating in the United States, Black Friday is a shopping event that takes place on the Friday following Thanksgiving. This Friday traditionally marks the kick-off of the holiday shopping season.
This day dedicated to consumerism and so-called bargains has spread throughout Europe in recent years.
While Black Friday may appeal to shoppers with its exceptional discounts and tempting prices on millions of products, there is a disconcerting reality behind it, particularly for the environment.
Black Friday is synonymous with over-consumption, false bargains and ecological disaster.
What is Blue Friday?
Blue Friday is a concept that competes with Black Friday. Instead of over-consuming, we want to invite you to consume more intelligently.
Forget about promotions, put off Christmas presents and use this day to support sensible projects. Instead of offering you excessive promotions, this Friday we will be offering you consumption that makes sense.
On Blue Friday, with the purchase of a TreeBike, three trees will be replanted thanks to the association Reforest'Action.
Reforest'Action is a French B Corp certified company founded in 2010. Thanks to their unique crowdplanting model, they have now financed over 23 million trees in 42 countries thanks to the commitment of 3,000 companies and 400,000 citizens.
Their mission? To preserve, restore and create forests around the world in order to develop their multiple environmental, social and economic benefits over the long term.
So, what do you think? Take advantage of this day to consume intelligently.
