Practical, essential advice on how to look after and maintain your TreeBike electric bike during the summer months.
Make sure you clean your bike regularly.
In summer, due to the high temperatures, dust tends to accumulate more quickly, as does a lot of debris. To avoid this damaging your bike, it's important to clean it regularly against this dirt. Use water and mild soap, preferably after each ride on warmer days. This will ensure optimum protection of your components for a carefree summer.
Pay attention to your battery management.
High temperatures can affect the durability of your battery. That's why we strongly recommend that you don't leave your bike in the sun, but preferably in the shade to avoid overheating the components. When you're not using your bike, keep your battery in a cool place. Also, when you charge it, try to do so in a place with a moderate temperature, preferably in the early morning or in the evening when temperatures are milder.
Maintain your bike's chain and gears.
Before each ride, check the condition of your chain and gears to avoid any incidents on the road! A derailment can happen very quickly! Clean them and lubricate them with oil to ensure smooth operation and prevent premature wear. Particularly in summer, after journeys on dusty or sandy roads, take the time to check that nothing has been damaged.
Don't forget to check the condition of your tyres and brakes for maximum safety.
Heat tends to quickly reduce tyre pressure, which can quickly leave you flat on the side of the road! Check tyre pressure regularly and make sure they are in good condition to avoid this problem. Also check the wear of the brake pads and adjust them if necessary to ensure maximum safety on your summer journeys.
